The Museum Collections are waiting for you inside our old houses, all from the 17th to the 19th centuries. However, the main exhibitions are to be found at Storbondegården (the red two-storey farmhouse). In the basement are exhibited the finds from recent excavations at Skramle (an early mediaeval farmhouse north of Arvika) and also artefacts from the Stone, Bronze and Viking ages, all finds from this part of Värmland. Here is the Church Room with our unique collections, saved from old churches. Other precious items and memorabilia are also exhibited here in the basement. The ground floor has the cupboards, the temporary exhibits, and the old kitchens. The first floor offers well preserved Dalecarlian paintings from the early 19th century, the banquet room (gästabudssal) for entertaining, an 18th century room with a magnificent tapestry and a room with furniture from the early 19th century.
